6967 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Associate Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the last quarter (October - December 2023) in implementing the objective ‘Prioritise the needs of vulnerable people and communities’ under ‘Pillar 2: Culture Change’ within the National Alcohol Harm Minimisation Framework 2022?
Hon Matt Doocey: I am advised that Health New Zealand does not report against this framework but work has progressed to minimise alcohol harm. I am further advised that Health New Zealand's 2023/24 work programme includes the development of a long-term strategy to address disproportionate harms experienced by Pacific people; support community-led initiatives to reduce alcohol harm in Māori communities, and support local communities to design, deliver, and develop local alcohol harm reduction interventions.
