Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the last quarter (October - December 2023) toward the outcome ‘Whānau feel empowered and can inform and access the knowledge they need about prevention’ under ‘focus area one: whānau ora (Determinants of wellbeing and primary prevention)’ within the Rheumatic Fever Roadmap?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that in the October – December 2023 quarter, the Cause Collective continued to deliver rheumatic fever and rheumatic heart disease awareness raising and education work with Pacific families and communities through social media and radio campaigns. I am further advised engagement with Pacific churches also occurred during the quarter, using the concept of communities developing videos to increase engagement around key rheumatic fever messages.
