6957 (2025). Francisco Hernandez to the Prime Minister: What is the salary band for a chief economist role in the Minister's departments, if any, if such a role or an equivalent role exists in those departments, if any?

Rt Hon Christopher Luxon: In my capacity as the Prime Minister, I am the Responsible Minister for the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (DPMC). The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) is a departmental agency hosted by DPMC. I am advised that there is no position of a chief economist in DPMC or NEMA.
