Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the last quarter (October - December 2023) toward the outcome ‘Amplify and elevate the leadership and role of Māori and Pacific communities, experts and health professionals’ under ‘Focus area three: Kōkiri Ngātahi System readiness and change’ within the Rheumatic Fever Roadmap?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that the Rheumatic Fever co-design initiative was completed during the October – December 2023 quarter. This initiative amplifies and elevates the voice of whānau, communities, and those with lived experience, to help identify and embed sustainable solutions to help people with rheumatic fever. I am further advised that during the quarter, reports were completed on prototypes developed with the help of whānau, communities, health practitioners, and other stakeholders to promote meaningful changes within the health system.
