6942 (2025). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Women: What protections, if any, exist in the Minister's department, if any, to prevent New Zealanders' information shared with US government departments, if any, being shared with third parties?
Hon Nicola Grigg: The Ministry for Women conducts certification and accreditation of its key systems as required by the Protective Security Requirements. This includes seeking to understand which jurisdiction the data is stored in and the risks associated with it. In addition to privacy training, Ministry staff undertake training on the PSR Government Information Security Classification System. The Ministry publishes a privacy statement on its websites to comply with its obligations under Privacy Act 2020.
