Hon Chris Penk: Use of Land Information New Zealand (LINZ) publicly available data is governed by the principles of the Privacy Act 2020 and any specifically applicable user terms and conditions related to that dataset. LINZ cannot ascertain if publicly available data is on-shared by third parties to US Governmental departments. Other than information released under the Official Information Act 1982 (OIA), information provided to any third parties, including that which contains New Zealanders’ information, is typically provided subject to data handling instructions. Instructions can include limits on use, access, storage, and any further release including under the OIA (or equivalent applicable foreign legislation).
