6749 (2026). Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Minister of Education: Further to 3221 (2026), how many initial teacher education places did University of Otago | Ōtākau Whakaihu Waka receive School Onsite Training Programme funding for in each of their primary and secondary school programmes, listed by each year they applied?

Hon Erica Stanford: I am advised by the Ministry of Education that the University of Otago | Ōtākau Whakaihu Waka applied for School Onsite Training Programme (SOTP) funding for: • 10 primary places and six secondary places in the 2026 academic year. Prior to 2025 SOTP was available only for teacher training in secondary schools and was delivered by two ITE providers only: University of Auckland and University of Waikato.
