6743 (2025). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Children: What New Zealanders' data, if any, is shared by the Minister's department, if any, with any US government department?

Hon Karen Chhour: I am advised by Oranga Tamariki that may share information with a government department from another country on a case-by-case basis. This includes the United States. I am further advised that information sharing is done for the purposes of progressing casework involving a child or children they have a common interest in, such as adoptions, child trafficking, and situations where there are immediate concerns for the safety of a child.
