Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Minister of Education: Furhter to 3226 (2026), how many initial teacher education places did Toi Kura Massey University of New Zealand | Te Kunenga Ki Pūrehuroa apply for School Onsite Training Programme funding for in its Māori medium primary school programme, listed by each year they applied?

Hon Erica Stanford: I am advised by the Ministry of Education that, for 2026, Massey University of New Zealand | Te Kunenga Ki Pūrehuroa (Massey) applied for School Onsite Training Programme (SOTP) funding for 15 places for their Māori medium primary school programme. Massey did not apply for any places specifically for their Māori medium primary school programme for 2025. Prior to 2025 SOTP was available only for teacher training in secondary schools and was delivered by two Initial Te4acher Education providers only: University of Auckland and University of Waikato.
