6726 (2026). Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Minister of Education: Further to 3225 (2026), how many initial teacher education places did Te Rito Maioha Primary Teacher Education apply for School Onsite Training Programme funding for in its primary school programme, listed by each year they applied?

Hon Erica Stanford: I am advised by the Ministry of Education that Te Rito Maioha applied for School Onsite Training Programme (SOTP) funding for: • 40 primary places for the 2025 academic year • 171 primary places for the 2026 academic year. Prior to 2025, SOTP was available only for teacher training in secondary schools and was delivered by two Initial Teacher Education providers only: University of Auckland and University of Waikato.
