Hon Penny Simmonds: Ministers considered several options for the waste disposal levy increases at Budget 2024, these included: • increasing levy rates over 4 years in line with inflation (assumed rate of 2.5% pa) • an annual increase of $5 per tonne for all levied landfills over 4 years • an annual increase of $10 per tonne for all levied landfills over 4 years • an increase of $15 per tonne for class 1 and 2 landfills over 3 years • increase of $10 per tonne for class 3 and 4 landfills over 3 years
