6617 (2026). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for the Public Service: How many vacancies, if any, were there in the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, as of 1 January 2024?

Hon Judith Collins: I am advised that the Public Service Commission (the Commission) is unable to report on vacancies at this date as it did not manage positions based on establishment headcount/FTE. The Commission operated to budget and was flexible about the level/type of roles it needed to employ to carry out its work programme.
