Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister for ACC: What financial modelling, if any, have the Minister’s departments, ministries and agencies undertaken to measure the total cost of redundancies – voluntary or not - resulting from the Government’s directive to reduce expenditure in the public service?

Hon Matt Doocey: As a Crown Entity, this is an operational matter for ACC. I expect to be kept up to date on the general direction and approach ACC are taking with regards to efforts to reduce expenditure under the no-surprises approach. I am advised ACC has been looking for opportunities to reduce its operational costs and is considering a reduction in headcount. I am further advised, ACC will be consulting with its staff about this change in early May, with final decisions in June.
