Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter October to December 2024 to achieve the expectation ‘Strengthen public health surveillance to increase the detection and response to communicable and non-communicable diseases, and on information on the distribution of wider determinants of health and wellbeing’ under the objective ‘3.2 Enable the use and generation of evidence, information, research and evaluation across the health system by using implementation science principles and concepts’ within the Government Policy Statement on Health 2024–2027?

Hon Simeon Brown: Our Government is focused on delivering timely, quality healthcare for all New Zealanders. As has been said to the Member in previous Written Parliamentary Question replies, Health New Zealand will give effect to the Government Policy Statement through the New Zealand Health Plan.
