6562 (2026). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Science, Innovation and Technology: How many vacancies, if any, were there in the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, as of 1 January 2023?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: As Minister of Science, Innovation and Technology, I have no responsibility for any government departments. With regard to Crown entities under the Science, Innovation and Technology portfolio, I am advised that 122.6 vacancies (not including Callaghan Innovation and PHF Science) existed as of 1 January 2023. Please note that PHF Science had 21.5 vacancies as of 31 January 2023 and Callaghan Innovation no longer has access to the relevant historical data and is therefore unable to provide the requested information.
