6527 (2026). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Workplace Relations and Safety: How many vacancies, if any, were there in the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, as of 1 January 2023?

Hon Brooke van Velden: I am advised that WorkSafe New Zealand had a total of 359 vacancies as at 31 December 2022. WorkSafe advises that the higher number of vacancies relative to other years reflects an organisational change process underway during late 2022, which affected how positions were created, held open, or phased out.
