6442 (2025). Dr Lawrence Xu-Nan to the Associate Minister of Education: In response to Reply 4765 (2025), how much, if any, of the cost savings have been reinvested in to the Ka Ora, Ka Ako programme, as at 25 February 2025?

Hon David Seymour: Some of the savings across the programme is being used to support schools, including the two additional food items for year 9+ students, an extra waste pick up on Fridays to avoid waste sitting in schools over the weekend and schools with over 350 students received funding support to help with distribution of meals onsite. Total costs reinvested to provide additional support to external model schools is $11.7m. (as at 5 March 2024).
