Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Minister for Children: Further to the answer to Written Parliamentary Question 2911 (2024), how many, if any, role vacancies not under active recruitment currently exist at Oranga Tamariki, by core and support, Full-Time Equivalency, job title, geographic area, and the length of time that the vacancy has been unfilled?

Hon Karen Chhour: I am advised that, as of 16 April 2024, Oranga Tamariki was actively recruiting for 219 permanent and fixed-term positions. I refer the Member to the attached table with these positions broken down by title, region and the length of time since the job listing was opened. Ahead of the organisational change proposal released on 17 April – and outside of roles such as Social Workers, Social Work Supervisors, Family Group Conference Coordinators, Residential Youth Workers, Residence Managers, Site Managers (or equivalent operational frontline managers) and other vacancies with an exemption, detailed on the spreadsheet – remaining positions have been progressively closed for recruitment since November 2023.
