6400 (2026). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Foreign Affairs: How many full time equivalent (FTE) roles, if any, were there in the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, as of 1 January 2025?

Rt Hon Winston Peters: On 1 January 2025, 1,215 staff were employed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT). I note that MFAT's global network of posts employ their own locally engaged staff, which have not been included in this return. On 1 January 2025 Antarctica New Zealand had 97 FTE roles, and the Asia New Zealand Foundation had 26 FTE roles.
