6398 (2026). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Foreign Affairs: How many full time equivalent (FTE) roles, if any, were there in the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, as of 1 January 2023?

Rt Hon Winston Peters: On 1 January 2023, 1,222 staff were employed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT). I note that MFAT's global network of posts employ their own locally engaged staff, which have not been included in this return. On 1 January 2023 Antarctica New Zealand had 101 FTE roles, and the Asia New Zealand Foundation 25 FTE roles.
