6391 (2026). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Foreign Affairs: How many full time equivalent (FTE) roles, if any, were there in the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, as of 1 January 2026?

Rt Hon Winston Peters: On 1 January 2026, 1,234 staff were employed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Tade (MFAT). I note that MFAT's global network of posts employ their own locally engage staff, which have not been included in this return. On 1 January 2026, Antarctica New Zealand had 87 FTE roles, and the Asia New Zealand Foundation had 26 FTE roles.
