6368 (2026). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister of Education: How many full time equivalent (FTE) roles, if any, were there in the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, as of 1 January 2026?

Hon Erica Stanford: I am advised by the Ministry of Education (the Ministry) and Education New Zealand (ENZ) that that data relating to full-time equivalent (FTE) roles is reported at the end of each month. As at 31 December 2025, there were 3,976.3 FTE roles at the Ministry and 74.3 FTE roles at ENZ. I am advised by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) that as at 1 January 2026, there were 472.13 FTE roles at NZQA. I am advised by the Education Review Office (ERO) that as at 31 January 2026, there were 245 FTE roles at ERO.
