6266 (2026). Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Minister of Education: Why has the Ministry of Education provided half the time for feedback on the draft Te Marautanga o Aotearoa as was provided for feedback on the New Zealand Curriculum | Te Mātaiaho?

Hon Erica Stanford: I recognise that kura and schools using Te Marautanga o Aotearoa have a shorter consultation time than those using the New Zealand Curriculum. It is, however, important to me that schools and kura have the best possible version available to consider and provide feedback on. The Ministry took more time to work on the framework and wāhanga ako for Te Marautanga o Aotearoa, so that those who review it can provide considered feedback, so the curriculum delivers quality outcomes for mokopuna.
