6228 (2026). Ricardo Menéndez March to the Minister of Immigration: From 01 January 2016 to 26 February 2026, how many Immigration New Zealand compliance visits, if any, were conducted, broken down per quarter by request for identity documentation, person being determined to be unlawfully in New Zealand, detention and voluntary departure?
Hon Erica Stanford: I can advise that between 1 January 2020 and 26 February 2026 there have been 3,342 Immigration New Zealand compliance visits conducted. Prior to 1 January 2020 information is not able to be provided because it is not stored in a retrievable format. I am further advised that it is not possible in the timeframe provided to obtain this information back to 2016, broken down by quarter or by reason for the visit due to the level of significant research and collation that would be required. Reasons for visits vary. Not all visits will include a request for an identity document. Information on voluntary departures is publicly available on the Immigration New Zealand website, alongside other deportation statistics. https://www.immigration.govt.nz/about-us/news-centre/deportation/
