Lan Pham to the Minister responsible for RMA Reform: Does the Minister intend that the nationally significant values of the Hauraki Gulf, as recognised in sections 7 and 8 of the Hauraki Gulf Marine Park Act 2000, will be retained and given effect under the new Natural Environment Bill and Planning Bill; if so, how?

Hon Chris Bishop: This is one of many pieces of legislation that intersects with the RMA and where cross-references will need to be updated to reflect the new Planning system. Officials will advise the Select Committee on these matters, as needed.
