6157 (2026). Tangi Utikere to the Minister for Rail: How many contractor roles or FTE equivalents did KiwiRail forecast would be lost, reduced, or not renewed as a result of the $200 million budget cut, and what assurance did KiwiRail give him that these workforce impacts would not compromise network safety or reliability, if any?

Rt Hon Winston Peters: There are no significant resourcing changes planned specifically related to the RNIP savings.
