6126 (2026). Hon Kieran McAnulty to the Minister of Housing: When were the data processing issues affecting the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development Housing Dashboard first identified and what action was taken to address those issues?

Hon Chris Bishop: I am advised that MSD notified HUD of the issue on 22 January. HUD reviewed its upcoming data release of December 2025 data, and only uploaded information that was understood to be unaffected at the time on the following dashboards: • Housing Dashboard • MAIHI Ka Ora, Ka Mārama • Local Housing Statistics HUD continued to work closely with MSD on the issue, and further advice from MSD resulted in HUD, on 18 February, removing December data on CHP Social Housing (and Total Social Housing) from the Housing Dashboard, as it was determined this could have been impacted. On 25 February, when the Housing Dashboard was updated with January data, December Community Housing Provider data was unintentionally re-published on the 'Change in Public Homes' page of the Housing Dashboard. This affected the 'Net Change in Total Public Homes' total. The 'Public Homes' page was unaffected. The data was removed 5th March immediately after the error was found. HUD continues to work with MSD on the issue.
