6093 (2026). Hon Dr Megan Woods to the Minister for Energy: Are there any circumstances in which general taxation would be used to cover LNG terminal cost shortfalls, and if so, what are they?

Hon Simon Watts: The Government intends for a levy to cover the cost of the facility, as the facility will act as an insurance against dry year. Details of the operation of the levy are yet to be confirmed.
