6077 (2026). Hon Phil Twyford to the Minister of Immigration: How much, if any, of the $1.05 billion already invested in New Zealand under the Active Investor Plus visa scheme has been invested in productive capital for businesses?
Hon Erica Stanford: As at 26 February 2026, $1.18 billion has been invested in the economy. Of this, approximately $19.6 million has been invested directly into New Zealand businesses, while a further $768 million has been indirectly invested via managed funds.
As at 20 December 2025, the managed fund break down was:
• Private credit: $371.2m
• Private equity: $108.3m
• Venture capital: $104.4m
• DIMS: $100.9m
• Funds of funds: $10m
Total $593.9m
The remainder is in bonds ($319 million), listed equities ($65 million), and property development ($10 million). An updated breakdown will be available end of March.
