5996 (2026). Hon Dr Duncan Webb to the Minister of Education: Further to WPQ 3572 (2026), was the payment of the 2026 part time student grant for Te Puna Wai o Waipapa – Hagley College paid later than it was in the 2025; if so how many days later was it paid and why?

Hon Erica Stanford: I am advised by the Ministry of Education (the Ministry) that the 2026 part time student grant was paid 40 days later than expected. The 2025 payment was made on 3 January 2025. The 2026 payment was not created in Pourato (the Ministry’s online resourcing system) due to human error. Te Puna Wai o Waipapa – Hagley College emailed the Ministry on 10 February to query the delay. Once the query was received, the payment was loaded on 11 February and paid on 12 February 2026. This payment is now calendared for 2027 to ensure it is not missed again.
