5974 (2026). Scott Willis to the Minister for Energy: What advice, briefings, reports, or any other document, if any, has the Minister received on the impacts on residential power bills of an LNG import terminal?

Hon Simon Watts: MBIE's analysis of the price impacts of importing LNG focused on the impact on the wholesale market, and is publicly available on the MBIE website. No additional analysis on residential bills has been undertaken, but MBIE estimates that the net effect for the average household would be an annual saving of $50 after accounting for the levy.
