Hon Nicole McKee: I have not received advice on the number of warnings under the previous three strikes regime which will be reactivated under the reinstated regime. The Ministry of Justice has provided projections of volumes of warnings that will be given under the new regime and prison population impacts of various options for reactivating strikes, in combination with the qualifying sentence threshold(s). The titles and dates of advice relating to the impact of reactivating warnings under the previous three strikes regime, can be found in the response to WPQ 69627 (2024).
