5831 (2024). Hon Jan Tinetti to the Associate Minister of Education: What percentage of unexplained absences saw whānau notified on the same day and an intervention was initiated after 5 days of unjustified absences in a term since it was progressively rolled out in schools from Term 2, 2023?

Hon David Seymour: The ‘School intervention’ and ‘Unexplained Absence’ Indicators reported by the Ministry of Education (the Ministry) as part of regular attendance reporting are not yet final, as the Ministry continues to accumulate and understand the data being collected and the practices that inform the findings. This is also my response to written parliamentary question 5833 (2024).
