5818 (2025). Celia Wade-Brown to the Minister of Conservation: What equity implications, if any, has the Minister considered for the Department of Conservation hut fees proposal?

Hon Tama Potaka: I interpret the question regarding “hut fees proposal” as relating to the Department’s current 2024/25 review of the fees for Basic and Bivvy Huts. The Department informs me that a key driver for the review is equity, in that users pay a fair contribution towards the provision and maintenance of the huts they use.
