5816 (2025). Celia Wade-Brown to the Minister of Conservation: What input from iwi or hapū groups, if any, has the Minister considered for the decision to increase hut fees?

Hon Tama Potaka: I interpret the question regarding “the decision to increase hut fees” as relating to the Department’s current 2024/25 review of the fees for Basic and Bivvy Huts. The review of hut fees is still in progress, so no decisions have been made by me or the Department. We consult with iwi and hapū on a range of issues when we believe they have a particular interest.
