5815 (2025). Celia Wade-Brown to the Minister of Conservation: What correspondence, aides-mémoire, briefings, memos, notes, reports, or any other advice, if any, has the Minister or their Office sent or received relating to the Department of Conservation hut fees proposal?

Hon Tama Potaka: Each year the Department reviews the prices of its huts, campsites and other facilities. The revenue raised contributes to maintaining, repairing, and improving the huts, campsites, tracks, and structures. I interpret the question regarding “hut fees proposal” as relating to the Department’s current 2024/25 review of the fees for Basic and Bivvy Huts. I received a Status Report update on 17 October 2024 advising that the Department was undertaking this review and the options it was considering.
