5794 (2025). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: How is the Health Assurance Unit accountable to the Minister for Health, and what is the decision-making process for the advice it provides?

Hon Simeon Brown: As I said in the House on 19 February, the Public Service Commission has established the Health Assurance Unit to support our Government's focus on getting health back on track after the previous government decided to restructure the health system in the middle of a pandemic. This involves providing advice to me on ensuring performance across the health sector. I am advised that the decision-making process follows standard Public Service Commission processes.
