5764 (2025). Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Minister of Education: Were the te reo Māori maths resources simply translated from English maths resources?

Hon Erica Stanford: No. The content and design of the Poutama Pāngarau programme and accompanying resources were designed specifically for kaiako teaching in te reo Māori and consider authentic ideas that allow for the incorporation of authentic examples, culturally resonant teaching methods, and educational practices that align with the learners' social and cultural backgrounds.
