5728 (2026). Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Minister of Education: Which Pacific communities, if any, contributed to the Ministry of Education refresh of the curriculum, and through what mechanism?

Hon Erica Stanford: I am advised that, throughout 2024 and 2025, the Ministry of Education established curriculum contributing groups and review groups to support the curriculum development and review process. In establishing these groups, the Ministry considered members with expertise specific to Pacific learners and schools with high Pacific rolls. These groups included sector representatives that made up the collective expertise required, as per the wider selection criteria. Public consultation also provides the sector and wider public with the opportunity to provide feedback.
