5725 (2025). Hon Phil Twyford to the Minister of Corrections

5725 (2025). Hon Phil Twyford to the Minister of Corrections: Does the Department of Corrections have any policy on the referral of clients to Destiny Church and any of its subsidiaries including Man Up, by the Department or any organisations to which it sub-contracts, and if so, what is it?
Hon Mark Mitchell: I am advised that Corrections does not have any policies on referring people to Destiny Church or any subsidiary of Destiny Church, nor does Corrections directly refer people to Destiny Church or any subsidiary of Destiny Church. However, individuals in Corrections’ care and management may choose to self-refer in the community. I am further advised that contracted providers who provide accommodation and services for people on community sentences and orders may enrol people in programmes they deem suitable. I am further advised that Corrections cannot report on the number of people who have attended Destiny Church programmes through a third-party provider as this information is not held in a readily retrievable format. To provide this information would amount to substantial collation and manual analysis to provide an answer to, which I am not prepared to ask for the purposes of this response. This is also my response to WPQ 5740 (2025), WPQ 5744 (2025), WPQ 5745 (2025), and WPQ 5746 (2025).
