5690 (2025). Hon Barbara Edmonds to the Minister for Infrastructure: What updates, if any, can the Minister provide on the Infrastructure Priorities Programme?

Hon Chris Bishop: The Infrastructure Priorities Programme (IPP) provides a structured independent review of infrastructure proposals and problems of national importance. It will provide a menu of high-quality vetted proposals available to decision-makers and the public. Applications for the first round of the IPP closed at the end of 2024. Round 1 assessments will be completed by mid-2025. Round 2 is now open to applicants. The Commission has received a high level of participation from the infrastructure sector in Round 1 of the programme. The applications received represent a mix of provider types (central government, local government, and commercial), as well as a range of infrastructure types, including transport, water, social, and telecommunications proposals.
