5665 (2024). Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Minister for Children: At any point in time, has Oranga Tamariki employed students as youth workers, if so, during what time periods and at what facilities?

Hon Karen Chhour: I am advised that people currently studying have been employed into Youth Worker positions at Oranga Tamariki. I am further advised by Oranga Tamariki that in order to provide the remaining information requested, it would require significant manual collation and I am not prepared to ask this of my officials at this time. As such, in accordance with the Speaker’s Ruling 185-4, I consider that the time, and therefore the expense, of answering the Member’s question is not in the public interest.
