5651 (2024). Hon Jan Tinetti to the Minister of Education: How many requests for support of Resource Teachers of Learning and Behaviour were made in 2023, broken down by cluster?

Hon Erica Stanford: I am advised by the Ministry of Education that in 2023, there were 12,701 requests made for the Resource Teachers of Learning and Behaviour (RTLB) services. There are 40 RTLB clusters nationally. The Ministry contracts 40 lead schools to deliver RTLB services based on a funding agreement that lists the schools supported by each cluster. This ensures national service coverage in state and state integrated schools. I refer the Member to the attached table, showing the number of RTLB service requests made in 2023, broken down by cluster. Please note that the number of requests received in a year does not correspond to the number of individual students who access RTLB support nor is indicative of the workload of RTLB.
