5630 (2024). Hon Dr Duncan Webb to the Minister of Justice: Further to his answer to WQ3124, what evidence, statistics, or information, if any, does the Ministry of Justice hold that shows that organisations specified in the Gangs Legislation Amendment Bill are presently criminal organisations?

Hon Paul Goldsmith: The Gangs Legislation Amendment Bill carries over gangs designated under the Prohibition of Gang Insignia in Government Premises Act 2013. The Ministry of Justice does not hold information about the gangs listed in the Bill, but did consult with the New Zealand Police on its contents.
