5561 (2026). Reuben Davidson to the Minister for Media and Communications: What advice, if any, has he recieved regarding the speed of internet provided by Wireless Internet Service Providers as opposed to satellite providers?

Hon Paul Goldsmith: I have not received any advice offering direct comparisons between internet speeds provided by Wireless Internet Service Providers and those by satellite providers. I note that the Commerce Commission regularly monitors the speed and performance of different connectivity technologies under its ‘Measuring Broadband’ work programme. These reports can be found on the Commerce Commission’s website.
