5547 (2026). Debbie Ngarewa-Packer to the Minister for Māori Development: Since 1 January 2026, how many funding approvals have been made under the Minister's authority, if any, broken down by month and region?

Hon Tama Potaka: In accordance with Section 58(1) and Schedule 6 of the Public Service Act 2020, all funding approvals from Te Puni Kōkiri are made under delegated powers from the Minister for Māori Development. I have been advised by Te Puni Kōkiri that since 1 January 2026, 25 funding approvals have been made. In January, one funding approval was made in Te Taitokerau, two in Tāmaki Makaurau, six in Waikato Waiariki, two in Ikaroa Rāwhiti, and one in Te Tai Hauāuru. In February so far there have been one in Tāmaki Makaurau, six in Waikato Waiariki, two in Ikaroa Rāwhiti, two in Te Tai Hauāuru and one in Te Waipounamu.
