Tangi Utikere to the Minister for Oceans and Fisheries: How, if at all, does he respond to the scientific consensus that Maui's dolphin is a distinct subspecies of Hector’s dolphin, and what, if anything, is his response to experts who say that the survival of this species is critically endangered?

Hon Shane Jones: My personal views on Maui dolphins does not affect the work that is being done to manage the range of threats that dolphins face.
