5525 (2025). Scott Willis to the Minister of Science, Innovation and Technology: What plans, if any, are in place for the transfer of Callaghan Innovation assets to another entity as a result of the disestablishment of over 60 jobs at Callaghan Innovation?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that planning is underway in relation to those activities that are being transferred to MBIE or one of the new public research organisations. As part of the transfer, Callaghan Innovation and the receiving organisation will assess which assets it is appropriate to transfer to enable the receiving organisation to perform those activities. For other assets, I am advised that MBIE will be overseeing the policy to ensure assets are assessed and transferred / disposed of appropriately. Until that point everything will be ‘made safe’ and stay in its place.
