5516 (2025). Hon Rachel Brooking to the Minister for the Environment: Has she received any reports or advice on battery fires caused by improper disposal and if so, what are these by title and date?

Hon Penny Simmonds: No. However I received a letter from WasteMINZ on 4 November 2024 outlining concerns around the risk and impact surrounding battery collection and recycling in New Zealand.
