5500 (2024). Chlöe Swarbrick to the Minister responsible for RMA Reform: Is the 'Fast Track Advisory Group' that Minister Bishop and Minister Jones refer to in the Beehive PR 'Project applications for Fast Track open today' published 3rd April the 'panel' outlined in the Fast-track Approvals Bill, and if not, what is it?
Hon Chris Bishop: No. The Fast-track Advisory Group (FTAG) is a group of six who will consider applications and recommend projects to the joint ministers for listing in the Fast-track Approvals Bill. Only projects seeking listing in the Bill will be considered by the FTAG. An Expert Panel (the panel) is a group (selected from a pool of approved experts) that will be stood up to consider each application for approvals. All projects submitted for Fast-track approvals will be considered by a panel, those that are listed in the bill and those that access the Fast-track process via the referral mechanism once the bill has been passed.
